Test performed as part of Plasma Metanephrines.
The sample should be put ON ICE after collection and transported on ice or frozen after separation.
The patient should be lying down during and for a minimum of 30 minutes prior to collection because collection in the seated position may result in false positive results. Seated samples will be processed, however recollection may be required if the result is elevated. Only assayed weekly (usually Tuesday - Suggest samples are sent to the lab on Monday to ensure inclusion in Tuesday batch) |
